Podcast about Twitter overload and more

Podcast #8 with Harriet Fancott (24:10) is available for download or you can listen in iTunes (you may need to view in iTunes and actually “subscribe” to see the most recent episode).

In our monthly chat, Harriet Fancott and I discuss the usefulness of following so many people on Twitter when you don’t really read everything each of them says. There is one approach as given by Kris Krug where you are in a stream just picking out what you wish as stuff floats by. Essentially, chill out and use what you wish.

The other approach, which I’m trying right now, is reducing the number of people I follow on Twitter to just ones that I either communicate with or who tweet content that is interesting or useful to me. Afterall, on Twitter, no one can hear you scream.

We also discuss “unfriending” on Facebook and how hard that is to do (neither of us have the guts, yet, to do this) as well as the time it takes to post on blogs and other channels.

If you’re looking for some deep, in-depth discussion on this issue, you won’t find it in this podcast. This is really just two friends having a monthly chat. You’re welcome to listen in.
